As part of my getting back into blogging I found this post that I had written a while back and never posted for some reason that I can not remember at the moment but it is full of little craft ideas that are great for house warming gifts. so I shall share it now  House warming Gift for a red and white kitchen. My cousin recently moved into a new house and after some investigation I discovered that their kitchen was read and white, since it was near valentines day at the time I decided it was the perfect time to do a little kitchen care pack for them and their little girl. Make Your Own Cotton Make-Up Removal Pads A Tutorial I have been a a de stashing kick lately and one of the things I have a lot of bits of is cotton yarn.  I recently renovated my Master bathroom and as a result I have been trying to de clutter and one thing I figured I could get ride of is the cotton pads and balls from under the sink (by using them) and replace them with a single set of reusable cotton pads that will a small jar on my counter and in doing so also save me some money by  keeping me form buying more single use cotton pads in the future.  As I was making my little circles I took some photos to share the process with you. The Happy Recipient The pink ruffle hat has made it to its recipient. The only issue is that she insists on wearing it with her red coat! 

After my sister saw the hat I made for Winterama she instantly requested I make a pink one for her little angel. After a difficult search for soft chunky pale pink yarn... seriously it was so hard to find one in a nice pink! Here are the results.  I think if I make this hat again with out the stripes I will avoid the seam formed by slip-stiching each row together and just crochet in the round.  also since this hat was for a slightly older child I decided to not add the ear flaps this time. My daughter modelling the hat before sending it off to my sister.

Winterama Hat Well winterama was this weekend and late Wednesday I realized that the youngest one does not have a hat to wear.  So I went through my stash, searched for a couple of hat patterns that I liked, and altered and combined them to meet my needs.  I used an ear flap had found on the   bernat  website, but before I got to the earplaps I did a row of  3 double crochet in each single crochet and then a row of single crochet in each double crochet to create the ruffle then followed the instructions for the second earflap for the first and second earflap. Finally I created a little flower from the 1st 2 rows of the flower found at  action hero  ( I think this will be my new must use flower pattern)to add to the hat so that there was no question that she is a girl since she would be wearing her extra snowsuit that is green to match. here are the results. A Valentines Day Wreath I was inspired by a wreath I saw over on Uruguay White Life via Craft Gossip   However I did make a few changes besides the colour and lack of bow I did this in a crochet style instead of knit.  It was pointed out to me that this could also have been made with one of those little finger knitting(also called corking I believe) style, that would be easy for a young crafter to do. This whole project only cost me ONE dollar since I had most of the material on hand.  I already had some red sparkly cotton left over from some dish cloths and towels I made recently (pictures to follow soon) and ribbon I had picked up on clearence last year after Christmas, one thing i did not have was a wire hanger so I did have to go to the dollar store and pick up some garden wire, this was excelent to work with since it is ment to be bendable it was easily fished through the long crocheted tube and th...
